Ironman Wales 2011

Piccadilly AV were contracted by the organisers of Ironman Wales to provide PA and AV systems for the 2011 event.

One of the main areas was a 25m x 60m marquee used for the Friday night ‘Pasta Party’/Welcome to the event and live entertainment followed by the Saturday race and swim briefings for contestants and RNLI lifeguards. On the Monday the marquee hosted the awards show party.

Sound was covered using a flown Logic line array with ground stacked bass and subs all driven by Lab Gruppen Amplifiers, with a 6 way Sennhesier Radio mic rack, Shure Lectern Mics all controled by a 32 Channel Allen & Heath mixing desk.

For the lighting we installed 16 flying points,2 25m trusses, 12 Robe/Hi End Moving heads, 10 Palco Led floods, 20 Parcans, 8 LED battens all controlled by an Avolites Pearl desk.

AV was covered by 2 Chrisitie LX1500 projectors, 5 flown 50” Plasmas with a MAC powerbook to cut and edit audio stings and video clips.

For the Transition from Wednesday – Sunday we installed a 6 Speaker PA with radio-mic. On Sunday for the final 100m Strip the organisers wanted a party atmosphere. We used moving head lights used to create the atmosphere - Studio Washes, Robe 250, Robe Rain domes, Palco up-lighting for the finish arch and sodium floods up-lighting hotels in blue
