Young European Truck Driver 2010

Piccadilly AV in the Sunshine!

Project Details

Piccadilly AV has just returned from two days out in the sun at The Heritage Motor Centre Gaydon for the Scania sponsored Young European Truck Driver UK final.

Piccadilly showed their full range of talents - providing multiple sound systems and also installing the entire branding for the event.

Charlie Maynard took charge of the branding included installing 55 flags on flagpoles, 65 banners 200m of picket fencing, 120 branded display units, many with live planting, gazebos, shop counters, tables, chairs, parasols, direction signs and sponsors graphics onto litter bins, go karts & other attractions. This was all installed by a dedicated team of 10 crew. We also manufactured a miniature track with trees, water and start and finish gates for the younger ones to have a go at driving a remote control Scania articulated truck.

The sound system installed by the team of technicians under MD Mike Newton using a mixture of Bosch horn speakers, Turbosound speakers and Bose speakers to cover general PA, dedicated PA for the show stage and grandstands and a PA for entertainers based around the Scania show trailer. Chris Love (Marketing Manager Scania UK Ltd) commented that the PA system was the best ever and covered all the areas with clear sound to keep the 5000 attendees fully informed and entertained.

The final was compered by Tiff Needell & Vicki Butler-Henderson from 5th Gear who were fitted with headset radio microphones to enable them to be clearly heard even when they attempted some of the completion manoeuvres themselves in the competition articulated trucks.

All of this was then de-rigged after the event by the same team from 1700hrs to 2000hrs to enable the site to be clear for another event the following day.
