Piccadilly AV are back from South Wales after a 5 day support of this years Ironman Wales.

From start lines, transition zones, spectator areas, finish lines and hospitality support, the Piccadilly crew provided a full range of PA and AV equipment.

Over 1,500 athletes gathered in the South Wales town of Tenby to participate in the the world renowned Ironman event which tests competitors to
gruelling 2.4-mile swim and a 112-mile cycle ride before finishing with a 26-mile marathon. Over 10,000 spectators were involved over the full event.

With weather conditions dramatically changing for the worse over night, the Piccadilly crew helped the Ironman team to move the beach start line. This created a new challenge of projecting sound to the thousands of spectators who would now be located on cliffs to over see the swim start. But, with project manager Dave Harding-Lyle’s technical knowledge and Piccadilly’s Logic Line Array System this was easily overcome, ensuring the commentary covered the whole area.

Down on the finish line our commentary unit supported the timing team and Ironman commentators, with the spectator area covered by further sound systems and moving lights to create a spectatular finishing effect for such an inspiring event.

Rena at Ironman Wales/UK delivered great feedback quoting:

“Hi David - thanks so much for everything over the weekend, your team was fantastic and we all really enjoyed working with you guys so thank you!”

Piccadilly provide AV hire throughout the UK and Europe from sites in Cardiff, Manchester and Rugby
