Team Rugby join with the RAF in Hanger 4

The Red Arrows and Carol Vordermen
The summer weather finally arrived over the weekend, just in time to join Piccadilly AV’s crew over at Waddington International Airshow 2011.
With a variety of spectacular displays from the American Thunderbirds, the impressive Vulcan Bomber and the classic British Red Arrows, visitors were treated to yet another successful show of international aviation.
This year, however they also had a little bit extra!
Over in Hanger 4 with team Piccadilly AV and our 24 sqm LED screen, the ‘RAF on AIR’ experience exhibition was being displayed. This new feature aimed to provide a showcase of RAF’s operations, both here and abroad, highlighting the developments achieved in both warfare and on a more personal level for RAF personnel. Visitors were able to view in-cockpit videos, past RAF Waddington Air Show flying displays, future military capability exhibits and behind-the-scenes RAF activity on the large screen.
Guest speakers included the RAF’s Presentation Team, Miss England and Carol Vordermen.
Carol was joined by a range of guests including Jon Allen-Butterworth, a former RAF armourer who lost his left arm in a mortar attack in Iraq in 2007 and is a 2012 Paralympics hopeful, and several members of The Red Arrows with Flight Lieutenant Kirsty Moore, the first female RAF Red Arrow team pilot, to explain how the RAF Wings Appeal benefit the Armed Forces Personnel and their families.
Thank you to Airshow Director Paul Sall and his team, Mike and the crew look forward to working with you again next year!
